Environmental & Quality Policy

Nicklin has built its business on a total commitment to quality of product, reliability of service, the prevention of pollution whilst protecting and improving the global environment.

We encourage ‘strategic partnerships’ between our suppliers and customers and strive towards mutual understanding and continued quality improvement with open communication with clients and other interested parties on environmental issues. Where possible we will only trade only with entities who can demonstrate a responsible attitude to the environment.

We aim to service our customer’s on-going requirements with innovative, environmentally friendly, cost-effective, quality products, on time, every time.

Our objectives are to continue to invest in property, automation and new products whilst complying with all relevant environmental legislation, guidelines and best practice.

We commitment to act responsibly in the use of natural resources through efficient use and to instigate policies of utilising raw materials that emanate from fully renewable and managed sources wherever possible.

Key performance objectives have been identified for the management system based on customer satisfaction and reducing environmental impact. These used as the basis for the ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.

J Nicklin & Sons Ltd policy is to maintain an effective Management System in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001:2008 and BS EN ISO14001:2004. Our management structure ensures that this policy is communicated to and understood by all our employees.

Our documentation, policies and objectives are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure the system is continually improved to meet the company customer and statutory requirements.

Phytosanitary (Plant Health) Standards
Registered as 'Phytosanitary' and 'Heat Treated' approved by the Forestry Commission under the UK Wood Packing Material Marking Programme (FC0001). Approval to brand timber packaging with the official mark certifying that any timber used meets prescribed phytosanitary standards inline with ISPM15 standards for timber transit packaging used in exports to participating countries.
